Germiston Golf Course
Established just before the twentieth century, during the hustle and bustle of the Witwatersrand gold rush, Germiston Golf Club came into being in 1897.
The Club is bordered by the Germiston Victoria Lake on one side. The Lake is man-made, fed by waters from the surrounding old mines, as well as perennial rain. This has spawned a series of duck ponds that dot the golf course, testing a golfer’s prowess in order to avoid them.
A full network of irrigation points makes certain the course can withstand periods of little rain and excess heat and ensures that tees, fairways, and greens are meticulously maintained by the experienced staff and their modern horticultural methods. The tree lined fairways and rough, as well as the subtle bent-grass greens add to the challenges of every round.
